Summer is here and exciting things are happening in the SOPH. There are a few new faces around the SOPH, and we are celebrating the accomplishments of our students and faculty, especially the graduates of the SOPH Class of 2023!

In Memoriam: Dr. John D. Bower

The Medical Center extends its sympathy to the family of a former faculty member in appreciation for the loved one’s contributions to the academic health sciences center.

Brian Christman is keeping his talents at UMMC. Come fall, he will begin working on a PhD in biostatistics and data science in his journey to becoming a professor/researcher.

It may be hard to imagine now, but growing up, Brian Christman’s plans had nothing to do with math or medicine.

Of the University of Mississippi Medical Center's Class of 2023, about 740 of the 911 graduates took part in commencement ceremonies at the Mississippi Coliseum.

In its 67^th annual Commencement, the University of Mississippi Medical Center on Friday conferred degrees to hundreds of students who are beginning their careers in the health sciences, or entering into a new chapter of an existing one in this state and beyond.
